I don't know, but we can try. We can create active different young groups in the diaspora which promotes such ideals, and the world would support these groups to implement it on the ground level by peaceful means. The situation in Somalia is all about bad security and economics, and if young Somalis can address it, you wouldnt need warlords or Saudi imitating tribalists.

Look, if you insist on "Islamic this" and "Islamic that", the inevitable result of this line of thought is a backward society. And the reason is really very simple. Religious conservatives will consistently reject new development in a host of areas that will hold a society back economically. There was a time in Islams hey day (in a very technologically simply world of course) in which Muslims competed well. BUT that is no longer possible. The world is MUCH more complex. At it's root, Islam is all about the spiratual and physical submission to God. THAT is more important than being economically competetive. The best and brightest minds will be encouraged not as entrepreneurs or scientists but as religious leaders. You end up with a slow moving, placid society that is more interested in conformity and religious adherence than anything else. Obviously there is no way such a society can materially compete in todays world. Now some observers right on this very site have said to me that competing matierally is not important. That's fine. But societies that don't compete are politically and militarily inherently weaker.

what is reallly and still is confusing to me is exactly what will the US gain from somalia?

When going into a country, whether distroying it or not, you have to gain something, either total control or profit, which the US will gain neither, so why work so hard to and in secret if the US will gain nothing.


the only thing coming to mind is the destruction of Islam in Somalia, but that cant be destroyed with any destruction of the country and people.
