I am afraid Kismaayo is going to fall to the Talibans.

Hawiye hate Daarood more than anything else. Mareexaan and Majeerteen hate each other more than anyone else.

Hawiye are determined to deny Supreme Executive Power to the Daarood at any cost. They would support the most murderous Hawiye warlords and suffer political and economic stagnation rather than let Cabdulaahi Yuusuf enjoy 2 years of power. They would support the Taliban of Dahir Aweys rather than let Cabdilaahi Yuusuf have a couple of years of power.

Perhaps the Marehans from Gedo can at least claim some proximty but teh arrival of teh first daarood in kismayo is probably around the 30s and they came as migrants.

But admittedly Kismayo does not belong to hawiye either. If the chit hit the fan in taht region migrants will lose and the indigenes will eventually win. So if I were you I will not whine and moan like an Kombo she-camel and lay claim to towns that never belonged you.
