SomaliaÂ’s parliament speaker lands at MogadishuÂ’s international airport

Aweys Osman yusuf

Breaking News

Mogadishu 05, Nov.06 ( Sh.M.Network) SomaliaÂ’s parliament speaker Sharif Hassan Sheik Adan accompanied by a number of parliamentarians has officially landed at Mogadishu international airport where the speaker and his entourage were received by senior Union of Islamic Courts, including Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, the Courts judiciary council leader.

Sharif Hassan has flown from Baidoa, the temporary base for the interim government early this morning.

He promised he would put his shoulder to the wheel to resolve the conflict between the government of which he is member and the Islamic Courts after they could not negotiate at Khartoum negotiating table due to conditions they presented before the opening of the talks.

The Courts senior leaders said they would welcome any Somali individual who would try to tackle the Somali problems.

The arrival of SomaliaÂ’s parliament speaker comes hours after pro-Islamic Courts fighters on the suburbs of Baidoa claimed they have blown up an Ethiopian battlewagon, killing two Ethiopian soldiers.

Somalia has had no functioning government since 1991 when warlords toppled former president Siad Barre.
