PlayStation 3 & Computer Games

Postby Gedo_Boy » Fri Nov 17, 2006 9:23 pm

Nowadays, the average age of people who play computer games are mid 20s-30s and the game consoles & the powerful PCs required to render the graphics/physics of these games are well within the thousands of dollars........quite beyond the reach of a 10-15 year old.

In addition to that, these games are so realistic now. Almost like a simulation.

So here goes the question

Are video games now an adult hobby?

Personally, I get a kick out of watching a really eye-opening Discovery Channel program, but sometimes when I see how realistic these games are I sometimes want to buy a PlayStation 3.

..........for my little cousin, ofcourse Smile

Gedo, So are you saying you are currently camped out infront of some Bestbuy or Circuit City store lying in wait for the latest craze? Laughing

I find it amazing I was watching my little cousin the other day play some race car game and he was good, maneuvering between other carsand stuff . He is only 4 yrs old and can't even write his own name and yet understands how to drive a car in the game. I don't think I was that smart when I was his age.

No, I am not that impatient..........I can wait a whle......but I think it would be a great gift for my 2 lil cousins.........one is a 9-10ish girl and the boy is like 6-8.

In moderation, I think it would help their motor development & cognition.........but not at the expense of developing their reading/comprehension skills, learning Quran @ dugsi, playing sports outside.

I was so embaraased because my little cousin, the girl, really smoked me one time in FIFA World Cup Soccer..............

That is when I realized my youth was over.......a new generation had emerged.
