MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO.

Postby surria » Sat Nov 18, 2006 7:51 pm

This is in reaction to one thread posted here by I believe Somaliman%, entitled: "Somali guy confesses his gay."
Ok, I have noticed that there are a lot of young Somalis who have been completely taken by the world of Homo-Hollywood and its infamous telescreen, broadcasting discussing crap that tells kids, to follow their hearts and that all urges are natural animal instinct and nature's law cannot be fought. This logic is fallacious.

Well, guess what, we humans have the capacity to act on our moral judgement, and this often requires discipline and self-control. Should animal activities and reactions be the basis for human ethical judgements? Regardless of whether homosexual activity is natural or not, should animal behaviour standards determine human behavioural standards? Look here, animals have already been shown to share much human characteristic behaviour-- or perhaps it is humans who exhibit animal characteristic behaviours. Whatever the case in the wild, for example, many animals kill their prey; we as humans kill livestock. Many animals compete for mates; some humans do too. But, MANY ANIMALS EAT THEIR OWN YOUNG AND PARTNERS such as certain spiders--SHOULD WE ADOPT THIS BEHAVIOUR? All IÂ’m saying is that god has given us something different from animals and that is reason and rationality, free will: The ability or discretion to choose right from wrong. So, just because you feel like eaten your baby, doesn't mean that you have the right to, even it that feeling is strong, because reason tells you that it is not a good idea Wink

Where are you going with that surria? It's easy for you to say "fight your urges" when you don't have to.

I don't care what two consenting adults are doing behind closed doors.

I know it's only natural, but would you stand there proudly on her wedding day thinking that she's going to be on her back giving it up that night? It's an unpleasant thought, no matter how natural, because we generally don't like to think about other people having sex. At least normal adults don't. There are some sad people who can't think of anything else, and so they constantly try to regulate other people's sexuality.

I think I would be shocked and uncomfortable, but eventually I'd get over it. But I'd probably advise him to stay in the closet as far as the grandparents are concerned.

I'll make sure to raise him a Muslim to compensate then. A closeted homo atheist is a bit much.

Why? Ignorance is bliss. Imagine how heartbroken they'd be otherwise.
