Any NETFLIX Subscribers Here??

Postby michael_ital » Fri Nov 24, 2006 3:13 pm

If so, what has been your experience with it, and would you recommend it?

For those not aware of what it is, it's an online DVD rental service that allows access to previously unaccessable DVD's. The kind that your local Blockbuster doesn't/won't carry. I.E Documentaries.

Mickey, Try BlockBuster. They give you a 1 coupon for 1 INSTORE rental per week & now offer the ability to return the movies u received in the mail to any store & pick up instore movie.

NETFLIX is nice. A friend of mine had it and she loved it. I have not tried it yet so what I say will be of little help to you. I get my movies (including new releases) for free from my school media center.

Abdi, check out the link, and see the difference. Your average BB caries fewer than 3000 titles, whereas the Netflix format allows one acces to well over that many titles. In short, they follow the Rule "Make EVERYthing available."

Mickey, I was a former NetFlix member but they began f*cking with my queue and mail movies 2 to 3 days after they receive them.

Blockbuster may offer fewer but u get more movies (at the store).

Ah, I see. Thats why I asked in my initial question for current/past members to relay their experiences. Did you receive resolution, or at least an explanation for the inconvenience?

Good article, thanks for the feedback. Besides, I wasn't contemplating subscribing ( it's not available in Canada anyway) I was actually looking at starting something similar here. But reading the "throttling" article was informative in highlighting pitfalls to avoid. I would think maybe increasing it to a 5 DVD package, that way it would reduce incidences of "going over".
