We can only co-exist if both sides agree to co-exist. Islamists don't want to coexist. They don't believe non-Islamic governance is legitimate. They believe that Muslims are destined to rule the world, and that Muslims must attack non-Muslims until they submit to Islamic rule. That's the rub.

And that is why religion is all focked up. It requires you to set aside your ability to reason, and accept with blind faith religious edict. It considers questioning the validity of the faith to be heresy and unacceptable.

I don't have to believe in any such thing. And atheists don't. And their point of view is just as legitimate as everyone elses. That's the difference between a free society and a facists one.

After years of experience and thought, I flat out reject the notion that religion should form the basis of social or political structure in any society. That societies that use religious orientation as the foundation for their structure are backwards and doomed.

Only possible if both sides agreed to detente. But this is a discussion page. And as soon as someone posts something here, it is up for discussion. Since people are posting religious advocacy, that immediately comes up for discussion. The more ardently Islamists advoacate Islam, the more ardently I beat it down. And frankly, I could not care less if I am considered blasphemous - but the rag heads here or the focking pope.
