Bombing Mogqadischu airfield should have been pretty easy - and pretty useless. I suspect it was done more to send a message than actually achieve very much. Maybe the ICU was using the airport as some sort of base.
But even for the Ethiopian Air Force, which isn't all that efficient, attacking Mog airport is easy enough. Finding the city would have been childs play, and finding the airport would have been easier still. So.....technically within the capability of their air force.
US certainly did not bomb the Mogadiscu airfield. No reason to.
