Somalia: Islamic Courts fighters pardoned

(SomaliNet) Different members of the interim government said all courts fighters and sympathizers will not be persecuted and thereÂ’s no need to feel guilty.
Mohamed Habeb known as Mohamed Dhere who ruled Middle Shabelle province for a long time before he was ousted by the courts earlier this year came back to Jowhar and openly said only the members of the Shura Council of the courts will be brought to justice. Like Mohamed, government spokesman, Abdirahman Dinari, Prime Minister Ali Gedi and Colonel Abdi Qaybdid who controls lower Mudug and Galgudug provinces, all said they are not interested in revenge.
The only wanted people are members of courts' ruling congress and foreign fighters.
Unconfirmed reports say all hardliners are regrouping near far southern city Kismayo for unknown reasons. Some reports say many of the men want to cross into Kenya while others say they want to wage a guerrilla war and hide in dense bushes of Lower Jubba province.
Many Islamic Courts fighters went back to their homes and blended into the society in all parts of the country.
