dangirl, it's just so harsh. why do they have to be so mean? i mean, if my mom's side had been somali and my father's wouldn't have, then this sitaution would have been much more worse. i just feel like blending in. taking a toothpick, putting it in between my teeth and hoping that a gap comes.
Sometimes it's just incredibly unique and striking beautiful when you dont have the typical somali features. You should see some of my family members who are mixed. They have the nicest skin complex.

Are they intending on annoying you? Because somalis are known for that, but they dont really mean it.My uncle is not even mix,but he has hazel eyes, and people give him the dirty look everything they see him.

dangirl, i know it's on purpose because it happens all the time. i brace myself for it. i think my green eyes are a dominant gene in my family because my younger brother has green eyes too. when the old ladies see me walking around with my younger brother, usually when i pick him up from daycare and take him home, they look at the both of us and give us wierd looks. my brother is only 4, so he doesn't understand why. he just says ''hi!" to them because he thinks they're being friendly.

kids are so unbelievably naive, it's cute. i was just making pasta for my little brother (it's basto day today Rolling Eyes ), and he just asks why i'm so big. they have no shame, it's quite adoreable. the qualities kids have when they are young is hilarious. their honesty and bluntnes gets them into a lot of trouble. in pre-school, he told his teacher that she looked ''to' up, from the flo' up.'' i was watching americas next top model reruns, and he must of caught it from the other episodes. Embarassed
