It all depends on what kinda weight you wanna gain. If you want to just put on some weight, then eat a lot of carbohydrates (french fries, pasta, bread, etc.) and junk food. If you want to gain lean muscle, then eat proteins (white meat like fish, chicken, beans, peas, nuts, etc).
The trick to gaining weight is to consume more calories than you spend on a daily basis. For a young male, recommended calorie intake is between 2000-2400 depending on activity & metabolism. If you consume more than 3000 calories a day, you'll most likely gain weight, just make sure you avoid fatty foods & fried foods.
