If you go to Saudi Arabia or Pakistan or Yemen, try finding a salsa club. Or getting a beer. Or getting laid. I spent 6 months in Saudi Arabia and the only women I ever even saw looked like Ninja b!tches.

Furthermore you are assuming that because I reject Islamic rule, I would somehow accept Christian rule. Not so. I am a died in the wool secularist.

Rule of thumb: My right to throw my fist ends where your nose begins. That should be the guide line for making legislation. What is best for society should NOT be the guideline. This is where Islam is all focked up (well not the only place, but one of them).

Ever hear of secular government? That is the only legitimate form.

If you're going to be obstinate about secularism, you wouldn't fit in very well in an Islamic state. Are you sure you couldn't find a like minded bunch, and have a permissive interpretation of the Bible to do what you want? If not, you can always exercise the right to leave and go live in the West where its secular.

As for drinks, you can get a drink in Pakistan and Yemen. I know because two friends of mine were suprised to have gotten a drink in those countries while on holiday. There are Jews in Yemen, and Christians in Pakistan that are not prevented from liquor, and it would be illegal under Sharia to prevent them from such. But public drunkennes and reckless behaviour is illegal.

As for Saudi, US supported Wahhabi's. Aint going anywhere soon with that link being there.

Ahhh and here we come to the nub and the issue I have with political Islam. IF Muslims just wanted Shari'a to rule their own states, I would say "Socks for them, but do I really care"? To which the answer would be no. I don't give a shit. Live however you want. But Muslims, all Muslims, believe that Shari'a should be the rule of law for the world. They don't all agree on how to get their, but basically Muslims do not believe I should be allowed to live the way I choose. They also don't believe that people who are not of the book really have any rights whatsoever, but must be coerced (you know, shirk and all). In the long run, there just isn't enough room on the planet for both to coexist because Muslims don't believe that non-Muslim thought or practice is legitimate. The kind of tolerance practiced in the early days of Islam still was only tolerant of practising monotheistic, conservative societies. I don't belong to any of those and never will.
