Archaeology in Somalia

Does anyone know if there are any digs going on in Somalia? There are several great sites that could be excavated.

Ras Hafun for instance has been identified by many scholars as the location of an ancient port city described in Periplus of the Erythraean Sea as "Opone", a major market center for Cinnamon production.

This description here of what today is Somalia is quite striking, especially since it was written before 100 AD!

There are some ancient ruins in Saylac, Xiis and Maydh.
Would be interesting to see them up close.

I picked up several pieces of Chinese porcelain and two small silver coins with arabic writing out of a small gulley near the beach at Barawe.

There is a grove of small trees near Dhuusamareeb that has several acres with a large concentration of stone spalls and flakes. They are heavily patinated and look very old.

I am pretty sure neither one has been dug.
