The point here is that Somaliland will not be recognised by the US. The US is using Ethiopia as its foot soldier. The president of Somaliland is a former faqash and cannot be trusted. My suspicion is that both government are going to give us a show with Puntland taking over with the help of Somaliland. If not all of Somaliland definitely Sool and Sanaag.

The 90s plan will also be achieved by giving it a clan dimension, kill two birds with one stone since the dhulbahante and Isaaq are both in it. The people on both sides will lose.

say somaliland takes over sool and sanaag. it will have to deal with an enormous area with a
hostile population, a long hostile border with the majeerteen and increased brutality of ONLF on isaaq violence.

these problems will rise, when somaliland in some way, shape or form actually wins in a war with puntland. personally I think both mini-states will destroy each other in a war and I don't think both sides will ever take it that far. both are too weak to win, but strong enough to do some serious damage.
