What the Somalis did for the Ethiopians...

Postby biko » Sun Apr 22, 2007 3:52 pm

with everything that is going on in Somalia and especialy with the current occupation of ethiopia, personaly i will always be proud of the simple fact that we (somalis) have made a great contribution toward the national diet of ethiopia. and one that is still used up to the present day.

and it all started way back when, during Ahmed Gurey time, and in the battlfields of what we now know as the great hightlands of ethiopia. there was a periode in Ahmed Gureys conquest where his army were most effective and succesful against the enemy during the nights. as a young lieutenant in the great army of ahmed gurey remarked...'where there is smoke there is fire Laughing ...unfortunately it took the slow thinking soldiers of xabsh 6 months to work out, cooking at night time and making fire was the reason behind their defeat and the great number of casualties they have been suffering recently.

so for survival reason they were forced to give up cooking at night and switched to eating raw meat!

and that tradition that has been past on up to the present day.

ps. some of you might say that it wasnt our plan to make them eat raw meat but although it was unintentional we take credit all the same. Laughing
