I thought we exhausted this topic in that other thread when you used to carry the handle of the Gay cannibal mass murderer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Suldaan Yuusuf Cali founded his kindgom in the 1870s and it was destroyed by the Italians fascists in 1925.

Yuusuf Cali ruled Mareexaan, Majeerteen, Hawiye, Dir, Leylkase and Awrtable.

The people living in the huts were Sacad, Habar Gidir. He was living in the palace he built for himself, whose relics were still standing when I visited hobyo in the early seventies.

Ninkii sarta fuulay
Suldaan cali waaye

ninkii dhulka jooga
Addoonkiisa waaye

Suldaan duub leh, daaraa khatiman badaha duunkooda

Gumeysi iyo kala saar dawlad.

maxamed siyaad Leylkase 21 sanno sow uma talin jirin? miyuu gumaystay? No. Same with Cali Yuusuf. He collected his taxes and made his money from the natural port of Hobyo. Otherwise he left people to their own devises. If he built roads and provided social services perhaps people will recall him fondly in Mudug Laughing

But I think he was in it for the loot. Laughing

The Majerteen sultanates were pretty big actually, though only two of them were actually Majerteen. Hobyo for instance was ruled by a Majerteen family but the population were all Hawiye.

The Majerteen Sultanates were also only Italian protectorates after the 1860s, which admittedly made Hobyo only independent for about 10 years, but the oldest Majerteen sultanate was founded in the 1500s.
