President Girma Says Smooth Cross Border Relation Shoring up Ethio-Somaliland Cooperation( April 4, 2007 )
President Girma Woldegiorgis said friendly relations between Ethiopia and Somaliland would further shore up economic cooperation between Ethiopia and Somaliland .
While receiving a parliamentary delegation led by speaker of the Somaliland parliament, Abdurahiman Mohammed Abdullahi on Tuesday, President Girma said the smooth relations between Ethiopia and Somaliland play a significant role in their joint anti-poverty efforts the two countries are exerting.
President Girma also expressed beliefs that members of the Somaliland parliament would draw important lessons from the discussion they hold with Ethiopian parliamentarians.
The robust cooperation Ethiopia and the Somaliland have been enjoying has facilitated ways for free movement of peoples , the delegation said.
They have also expressed that they would be satisfied if Ethiopia upgrades its trade office in Hargeisa to the level of diplomatic mission.
Members of the delegation during the discussion told President Girma that opposition political parties and the ruling party are working in harmony for the common good of the Somaliland .
