Remember the plane full of deportees from Saudia Arabia that landed in Gaalkacyo. Only the Puntlanders were allowed to enter Gaalkacyo, the Hawiye were sent the fuk out. Lucky for them, Somaliland welcomed them in Hargeisa.
Nobody pays shit to the Hawiye, we control the airport by xoog since ousting Caydiid from Gaalkacyo and that's the end of that. Iskaba dhaaf Majeerteen, the Cumar Maxamuud rule the entire town: we are the local government, we control from the government farms and buildings to the ex-military bases and the centre.
In the north of Gaalkacyo there are several private clinics and one large public hospital managed for years by MSF Holland (which since recently also manages South Gaalkacyo's hospital).
Gaalkacyo is divided in MJ areas, a HG area, LL area and Mixed areas with Dir, Sheikhal and them. The Majeerteen live in exclusively MJ xaafado and if not, they live together with Leelkase. The Leelkase, Dir, Sheikhal etc. live between the warring Majeerteen and Habar Gidir.
The Habar Gidir only have one xaafad known as Baraxley, but since recently they want people to call it Wadajir for whatever reason. The Majeerteen inhabit many xaafado, they mostly divided along subsubsubclan lines like a Reer Xirsi xaafado, Reer Mahad xaafado, Reer Khalaf xaafado etc.
The poorer you are, the closer you live towards the Hawiye, the wealthier you are, the more northern you live. FYI Baraxley is the worst ghetto you'll ever see in your life. It used to be decent before the civil war. They put all their eggs in Xamar, dumb move.
