Cabbie found beaten to death after row

Police have launched a murder investigation after a mini-cab driver was discovered beaten to death next to his car. The body of Ali Maslah, 41, was found dead outside a block of flats in north London early yesterday.
It is understood the married father-of-five, from the Kentish Town area had been involved in a fight with a man and a woman. Officers found him lying beside his cab.
A police spokesman said: 'At about 3.08am police were informed of an assault in Sherborne Street, north London, outside McIndoe Court, a block of flats. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was found lying beside his silver Vauxhall Zafira.'
Police said Mr Maslah was a British citizen who came from Somalia. His five children were all under the age of 11.
A post-mortem examination was due to be held yesterday at St Pancras mortuary. The Serious Crime Directorate is leading the investigation but police have not arrested anyone in connection with the murder, and are seeking witnesses.
