Hair Journey Update

Postby BVSNet » Wed Nov 04, 2015 2:47 pm

How's everyone doing?

viewtopic.php?t=332521

Can you believe it's taken 2 years to get to BSL

I am going to get my hair trimmed later this month so will probably still be an inch away at the end of it

Long hair sucks  After getting it long enough to just tie it up and out of the way any extra inches is just more old hair begging for attention

WstLdn I didn't get the gel heat thing but I got the portable deep conditioning hair dryer. Used it once not sure how I feel about it. It set my hair with the product in it :? Maybe next time keep adding water to the hair.

How's you guys' hair? Anything new, techniques or products to share? Waan ka caajisey the whole hair routine. Let's inspire!

Aishah :deadrose:

BV congrats walaal, I'm glad you reached your goal (or getting there).

Alxamdulilah I'm just past BSL but my problem is thickness/volume, especially at the ends. I've always had fine hair, and with time it falls out more. I'm thinking of buying Biotin but worried about its side effects (e.g. Bad skin & constipation), anyone heard of it? What vitamen tablets would you recommend?

Aishah might try something, and WstLdn mentioned sulphate free shampoo from this place in the original thread

I got face cream from Holland & Barrett that gave me a rash so I'm cautious

If you haven't tried it yet. try pre-pooing with the Aphogee Essential Oils, that reduces breakage drastically though if you are strictly co-wash it would probably be too greasy. That's why I stopped

btw Aisha did you know that a lot of conditioners (including hello hydration) have Sulphates?! I was so shocked by that

Naa I shampoo once a week and co wash after I workout but I use a clarifying shampoo from tresemme once a month to get all the junk out.

I prepoo with wild growth oil as I am on a growth mission

Yh conditioners are full of sulphate but there is one that is a must to give hair slip so you can detangle when conditioning

My hair grew back to its original length. I remember my meltdown about how short it was at the begining of last year.

I'm looking forward to my next cut though. Maybe shave off the side if I'm daring.

Salaams BV,

Ain't nobody got time for long hair :)

But seriously I let my hair grow really long once and I used to wear it curly(pre hijab days) so much work to maintain it so I chopped it off like Halle Berry pixie.. Ever since then I've never looked back at long hair the way I had before...I might let grow to shoulder length.. Plus being preggo/kids and long hair.. Yeah ain't nobody got time for that.
