Reer Awdal, should we stop marrying other Somali clans?

Postby AwdalPrince » Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:02 pm

I think we should stop marrying other Somali clans and become a homogenous tribe. So far over 90% of Gadabursis marry within eachother. We are so far the most homogenous Somali clan in that most Gadabursis never marry a non Gadabursi. Should we not continue this beautiful trend?

Unless it's a political marriage, I believe we as a nation of farmers and cultivators of land who are known to be a soft spoken community far detached from harshness should stick to those whom we know.

Samaroons mostly marry from within.. but it is impossible to be 100% homogeneous and not to marry from outsiders since Gadabuursi is a large clan that lives in a large area of land in which some of these lands is shared with other clans (ie djibouti, jigjiga, shiniile, gabiley).. even clans that we do not border we intermarry with them (marexan, hawiye)... i think nothing is wrong with intermarriages among somali clans... its a beautiful mix and should keep on.

Mondey, most Somalis have big issues and alhamdullilah we usually have little family problems but if we get involved with other clans in marital relations they might influence us in a bad way.

Accident, are you Iidoor?
