He was killed before 96. Either 94 or 95 and I heard his assassination was kinda political, not sure.

Apart from the football club he used to help to poor, orphan kids through schooling and giving them shoe-shining boxes with tools to support themselves and their families and somehow someone didn't like that etc.

Elman Ali Ahmed was the victim of an apparently political killing in Mogadishu on 9 March 1996.

Dharkenley won  and will be facing Wardhiigley who beat X/jajab

Shibis won and will face the winner of match 4 (Hodan vs Shingaani).

Funny, I was in Madina those days & wasn't into politics and that shit. The war in which Aideed was killed I was in Madina hiding from stray bullets and mortars.

Somehow I thought that Elman was killed around 94 or 95 but you're right, I have also just seen it in Amnesty Int.'s website.

I lived there. It was home, sxb. But yeah I was in school at the time. Well, "private" schools since standard schools didn't exit at that time (or weren't much) & most of the foreign supported/funded ones (i.e. Egypt, Gulf countries, Sudan etc) increased late 90's onwards.

Walaahi it was normal, though people from other parts of Mogadishu regarded it as a green zone. I moved there right after the UN left Somalia, '95, and didn't live anywhere else since the day I left Somalia. I liked it & would move there if a real peace comes back Insha Allah.

Guriga Aadan Gabyow uu u dhowaa miyaa gurigiina?
