Mundul or mudul; that is the question

Postby Lamagoodle » Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:57 am

In kastoo soomaali badan aay u arkaan inuu af soomaaliga yahay af qani hadana markaad u kuur gashid waa af faqri/sabool ah. Gaar ahaan marka la eego magaca u bixinta waxyaabaha casriga, magacyada waxyaaba magaalooyinka laga helo, cuntooyinka, xagga farsamada, cilmiga iwm.

Waxaan akhriyey dood ku saabsan in kelmada(eryga) saxda aay7uu (y)tahay MUDUL ama Mundul. Waxaan qormadaan kooban doonayaa inaan ku sheego sida aan anigu arrintaani u arko.

Waxaan ka cudur daarayaa inuusan af soomaaligeeyga ahayn mid sidaasi u fiican , gaar ahaan markii loo eego kan Jaalle Twist.

Si aan u raadino kelmada saxda ah horta waxaan haboon inaan lafa gurno aasaska/tiirka kelmada;

Soomaalidda reer miyiga/baadiyaha waxaay hab nooladeedka dadka u kala saaraa saddex nooc:

1. Waable; waa dadka degan guryaha
2: Waranle ; waa ragga qaan gaarka ah oo aan si fiican diinta u garaneeynin
3. Wadaad; waa ruux diinta yaqaana

Waablaha aalaba wuxuu degaa hoori (aqal soomaali)

Sidaanu ognahay soomaalidda wada reer baadiye ma aha ee waxaa jira;
- Beeraleey
-Kaluumeeysato
-Xoogsato
-ganacsato (gedisley)

Dadka beeraleeyda ah waxaay degaan mundul. Dad badan oo soomaali ah- gaar ahaan dhalaanta ku barbaartay xeebaha soomaaliya- waxaad moodaa inaay carab go'anyihiin oo waxaay yiraahdaan MUDUL (fiiro gaar ah; maroodi waxaad arkeeysaa dad ugu yeero madoori)

Waxaan rajeeynayaa inaan xoogaa ifiyey .

Mahadsanidiin Jaalle Lamagoodle

You are saying waxey degan Mundul as if its the struct that is different and not the name. Its the same thing but some people say it with an "N" this is new to me :| but you are also suggesting people who say mudul are carab gajo :-O

I thought you were the one who said "Mundul" :) There is nothing called MUDUL ! I am suggesting that many people from Xamar, Merca, Baraawe etc simplify words sometimes.

Lol@ carab gajo.

I love your somali. There is an innocent touch to it.

P.s I have a sijui accent (very deragatory term btW) and you have a typical banaadiri dialect in your writing.

Really? That woman is very beautiful. She reminds me of an old sweetheart. Her accent is not actually the true banaadir (xamarweyne, shingani or Cabdicasis). Her accent is the typical greater xamar one.

I sound like this guy; NFD accent.

When it comes to originality and undiluted somali my humble opinion is that it is spoken in the NFD. Isn't the NFD dialect sexy?

Yeah, I guess you have probably the waberi/bondheere accent. The semi-reer koraad accent.

Could be, could be. I admit. I am guilty of TUULOcentrism. But, Iam not guilty of typical lamagoodle behaviour;turn villages into cities, stones into mountains and waterholes into seas (see for instance some contributions from members on this website).

I can fake many accents but the shrewed mind can call my bluff :lol:

What about your English? When I am in London, I can hardly understand a word spoken by the working class and immigrants. I was once told by a shopkeeper in London that I spoke Queen's English. I speak English with a European accent.
