In general I don't like eating in front of a room full of Somalis and Arabs, xooga maxaa ka fiicaan Asians. They look waaay too much. I like restaurants to be sparsely populated or to be populated by non-perverted cadaans, the english being a best example.

I was at the one in Hammersmith and I wasn't impressed. Do you wonder why somali dishes are just too much? I was at the Blue ocean at 11pm and was served by this wonderful waitress; but the food was nothing compared to what I usually eat; chinese, Italian and french cuisine. I was satisified when I saw the size of the dish

Actually, there was a little restaurant in Harlesden which had good food but the problem here (just like the one in Streathman) is the hygiene; too many napkins on the floor and the sight of the poor sambusas almost crying for help is not appealing.


Somalis like benchmarking their businesses to what is on the market. There are no nische stratgies. If you visit Southall and other somali owned businesses they all sale the same. What they need is a basic course in entrepreneurship.

I'm really conflicted with this.

On the one hand, as much as I'd like to feel offended and lash out, I'd have to say I agree. I personally feel less comfortable around Muslim women than I do non-Muslim women, eating or not. Usually, I feign ignorance of my surrounding. Not caring, or at least pretending not to, seems to do the trick.
