How much support did Shariff have before the the monitoring group report, and how much support does he have after it?

He is far behind Farmajoo before or after the report

Reer Xamar are not interested in clan or family ties. They will support the one whose best fit to lead. Very reasonable people

the guy is fighting hard to stay in as president or stand charges of corruption and aiding pirates. The two shariffs believe if they stay on they will get diplomatic immunity. But it seems like UN and West have already discarded him, and will subvert all his attempts to bribe his way into office.

The shariffs are finished, and it seems the west has already got a few guys lined up.

It'll be interesting to see what happens 19 days from now.

Who do you think will win? I am guessing Farmaajo right?

I really don't know. I don't think Baadiyo, any of the shariffs, or most government and ex members even Farmaajo. They want someone knew, and probably from America.

Prof Samatr from HiilQaran or Farmajo will win either way they are both good would be happy if either one wins. However I would be more happy if Prof Samatr wins   :som: The rest that's running are either part of the corrupted TFG or are just unknown. The MP's will pick people they are familiar with and I'm guessing since the report came out the International community will pick someone who isn't part of the corruption so again it goes down to these two men although Farmajo was accused by gaas the UN have nothing on him and nothing on Prof Samatr and the MP's are familiar with these two. I don't think Farmajo would win though coz he has women in his party and no one is going to allow a woman to be a big part of Somali politics

Farmaajo has no chance whatsoever, rumor has it that he doesn't even feel safe in Muqdisho and that is the reason he has been in Nairobi. Plus Farmajo is as bad as all the other corrupted officials mentioned in the report. Trust me on this; Sharif Afbiijo has the biggest chance and this is due to these reasons:
1. He has most Hawiye on his side except may be few Ceyrs and Sacads
2. Xawaadle is on his side because he supposedly gave them brand new region
3. He got Sakiin on his side to bring the Eeelay on-board
4. Iidoors would rather deal with him than anyone else especially the Godeybiirsey Hiilqaran guy

There you have it; the odds are favoring Afbiijo so far....Somalia is doomed for life. It would be nice to see what HiilQaran folks bring but they have no chance whatsoever.

Guhad Un wouldn't of let the monitoring report leak if they wanted him to continue. After some of his remarks completely dismissing the report as false, part of an agenda to prevent progress and stability, and characterized them as "cadows". I would really believe it was up to the Somali parliament to decide if he got elected.

Farmaajo has little credit with the UN because of the animosity between him and Mahiga.

Mark my words, UN has an American lined up to be the president.

I highly doubt Sharif would be re elected if he does Somalia is doomed. He is part of the problem in Somalia therefore can never sort out the problem since he is part of it. He was an ex Al Shabab friend, he betrayed them and Somalia is their play ground. They want to get him back by recruiting child soldiers and gullible men alongside foreign fake brainwashed jihadist and he is getting them by recruiting foreign soldiers.
