greenday,

Why do you want the capital moved?
Would you want your turf being swamped with alien Somalis who come from hundreds of kms away? It's totally understandable.

yes, if they are providing for the city, then why not? Diversity should be welcomed.

There are two Things here:-

a) Mogadishu as capital of Somalia and

b) Moving the Capital to somewhere else!

Mogadishu will be the capital of Somalia regardless of whether we like or not because of a Practical reasons. There is other no Town in Somalia that is suitable to be a capital for the time being. Almost a third of Somali population live in the Greater Mogadishu> It is the only the Metropolitan City in the Somali Speaking region of HoA. While Mogadishu's infrastructure need a great rehabilitation, There is no other town in Somalia even with basic infrastructure. So for the Time being xamar waa lagu qasbanyahay.

Moving the Capital to somewhere else? As Greenday advocates some Xamarawis believe all the problem comes with the capital since who ever control xamar controls Somalia, what is more number of cities in the world including Lagos of Nigeria, Johannesburg of South Africa, Sao Paulo of Brasil and New York of US are the main Commercial centers of their respective countries with out necessarily being the a Capital.

Mogadishu or Xamar has been successful for last 3 to 5 thousand yrs due to its strategic location, Now with Greater Banadir almost accommodating half of country's population xamar can live with out the Capital. Sure it will be a loss, prestige as well as few projects.

If Mogadishu people form Mogadishu Metropolitan Administration and get half of the revenue Mogadishu produces they will need no one, it will be a great city while all these politics r cooked in somewhere else.

there needs to be three capitals. administrative, legislative and judicial capitals like our friends in SA. this way, not everyone goes to one place. somalis are clan xenophobic people. they might feel threatened if there are too many non locals around.

Shirib, i want to live in xamar but not the capital

Kim, no one will feel threatened plus Xamar not being the capital will not mean it will lose diversity.
