so basically if someone from, say London wants to go to xamar and use only turkish airlines only they would need to stopover at not one but two countries (turkey and djibouti) :snoop:

Great news. But why stop to hell-hole Djibouti ? Why not straight from Istanbul to Mogadishu ? The useless jabuutians are directly benefiting from Xamar's success.

First of all the Aircraft operated on the route does not have the ability to operate the Nonstop flight and only way to make it nonstop would be to upgrade to a bigger jet and that would destroy the yields on the route which are very busy on only a few months. Looking at the Data from the past few months 84% of the Passengers are continuing on to Xamar while the Cargo load is almost identical at 54% to Xamar and 46% to Djibouti.

How are Somali airlines going to grow if they have to compete with bigger airlines for the small somali market?

Other than Turkish Airlines all the other Carriers even if they are registered in Kenya as is the case for East African, jubba Registered in Dubai and Daallo in Djibouti, all three are owned by Somali's. What will protect Somali Carriers when an effective Government comes along is something i have been personally been pushing forr, which is to restrict all airlines that are not Registered in Somalia to Operate Domestic Flights and most importantly to Ban East African which is Kenyan Registered to Operate from Dubai or Sharjah to Somalia since its not a Somalia state carrier. Imagine Somali Airlines operating Dubai to Nairobi with full fight freedom right  Our State is useless
