The TFG and AMISOM were caught by surprise with the Shabab retreat from their front line positions from 11:00 to 02:00 Saturday morning. It took the TFG until mid-day to send some of their units to San’a in “North” Mogadishu where they encountered an ambush by the Shabab, sending them back to their positions.

Indeed the TFG have not been coping with all the premature signs that was indicating a withdrawal from the shabab. But we should not dwell in the past. The most important thing for them now is to capitalize on the situation and station soldiers wherever the Al shabab hasnt stayed in. Caution is indeed wise, but to much caution will only lead to the moment slipping out of your hands.

Purge the TFG of all former Islamists, including the snake at the top.
