How much the land for a typical house go for in Borama?
I am not sure but I would hope its a lot cheaper than Hargeisa,so depending on the size n area I would say no more than 5-8k, thats my own estimation, you might find a cheaper deal even.
That is a good estimation and your correct it really does depend more on the area now. For instance if you wanted to purchase land near Beeraha Camuud and you could get something for 5-6k where as land near Dhaktarka-inside the city would cost upwards of 10k.

I may not be a Countess in reality but my blood runs true Somali blue- seen as though my grandfather was the most feared Suldaanka of Borama. 8-)

Ps Rays Hotel has really come along nicely.

Ps, Borame's most famous song I thought it would go well with the romantic pictures.

I honestly can't believe how much the city has grown and the attitude has become very westernised nobody just turns up at your house unannounced (bar family) without prior instruction to do so any more. Its all so very modern. Not sure how I feel about this, part blessing, part sadness for the loss of a close-nit nosey community. Ah well, *shrugs* change is the one of the few guarantee's in life.

Hey there Countess, come through

Yeah you are right the prize is pretty steep in the new posh hoods and Xafadaha Dhakhtarka is all filled up now and anyone would be lucky to get a plot in old Borama. Family tried to coerce me into buying some land which costed about 10k for two plots in Sheikh Ali area.

Lol You certainly are a Countess in the eyes of your much feared Awoowo and fam, and by the look of it, you can give the Ugaas' daughter a run for her money.

Ps There is a new Hotel being opened at the entrance of the city, RAYS suuqa ayaa laga saaraya  Its called Saw, let me see if I can find a pic of it.

Mahad sanid Huuno-  I'm charmed.

Buurta Sheikh Ali? Waar you should have-we would have been isku xaafad. But at 20K a pop? I don't blame you. Its a little on the steep side when you could have a bigger plot of land for much less. A little tip (though it doesn't look like you need it) beware of purchasing homes further a field where the electricity-sourcing could pose a problem.

Haye, show me this new Hoodel.

I did go ahead with it reluctantly mind you , seeing how I am an original Xalane lad, buying my first plot of land in Ahmed Guray-Sheikh Ali area was a treason in the eyes of some . So you are from that upper class posh area huh, not surprised really.

Borama has changed tremendously as you said and its no longer magaladi yarayd ee afarta sakadood ahayd ee la is wada indho yaqaanay, I would probably need escorting around the city now, adi goorma kugu danbaysay?

Btw, you just sneaked up on us with out any prior notice, we would deff have rolled the red carpet for you upon your snet arrival in an official capacity, nonetheless, welcome aboard Huuno n make urself at home :rose:

The new hotel is still under construction but looks absolutely stunning with a location to die for, grand opening might be midd summer Insha allah

Adna soo dawow huuno- waadigaan xaafada soo galey. My area is literally on wadada Axmed Gurey just below buurta Sheikh Ali. Reer Xalane Aah? Lol glad you've escaped the far reaches of nonexistence and come into the city where a gentleman as you truly belongs. I kid, I kid! A much beloved uncle of mine hails from your lands.

Lets see? The last time I was there was in April 2012 and I was surprised to see those little hindi cabs/cars everywhere. But its almost as though I live there with the amount I spend funding my mothers luxury life-style over there (as is the way with us Somalis). She's always got stories and is in one of her many land selling-house-building phases. This time I told her it has to be in baby steps.

Thank you again for the Welcome walaal but the red carpet is not neccessary, least not from the likes of your goodself. I'll trample on one of the other male minions here instead. I KID-Partially.

BTW- You know who I am? If so come on you must reveal yourself to me at once. I've been out of the forumer game for so long I can no longer recognise anyone. Thats IF you wish to. Far be it from me to spoil any secrets.

Ps the new Hotel indeed looks beautiful no wonder hooyo is obsessed with her birth place. And your right magaaladu way weynatay- long gone are the days of a handful of families. Tis a new era indeed and for the better god willing.

Nothing less than I was expecting, brilliant in depth response, you have no idea how much I hate small talk :D

Thank you, but I need to finish my house first before I consider myself ree Ahmed Guray and exchange neighbourly gifts with you, I will need a lot of support transitioning from Ree Xalane to Ree Axmed Guray. Cant even believe I am entertaining the idea, what a blasphemy Lol. You are lucky to have spent some quality time there as recent as '12, anigu I havent been back for a hot minute walahi and might be home sick, hence my obsessions with the place which might be jarring some of my friends the wrong way, lakiin yaa ku isku joojinaya dee!

And I will have you know Xalane is far from a backwater xaafad let alone non-existent, igga walla its the heart of the city where true original Boramawis who bleed blue roam the dingy streets with their class "Bakoorado" I have heard ree Axmed Guray require 5-O escort when they visit the area.

A glimpse of Xalane, ( You can even see your area) see the green Building, that was my dugsi quraan/after school which started as a tree with stone seating and its now a fully fledging Primary/Intermediate School with their own land mark building. Thats my neck of the woods, place that shaped and moulded me into the man I am today! Say this is the best pic u have seen of B-town and We might over look your little indiscretion against ree Xalane

Btw, what made you say that I might know you, was it that spooky gif? No, unfortunately I dont huuno but gotta admit that I was sort of entertaining the idea you might be none other than our greatly missed HRH Sophisticate, wasnt the only one as well. I also for a fleeting sec, thought you might this Ina Omar I know looool, but I am kinda convinced you are neither now. Labadaba waad kayara khatarsantahay, and thats really saying a lot. 8-) Anyway, anaa kuu warramiye in aan afka jug isku siino weeyan niyaw oo la is waraysto. You certainly need to be debriefed by the Agent asap, damn I have rinsed that line but it always works, lets see if does on you

Sxb i dont care how she looks....for singers, the only thing that matters is their voice and undeniably she got a soothing voice.

she is indeed a v.i.p no pun intended

I'm glad you approve of my dissertation, as I've stated its been a while since I stretched my fingers forth and find myself unable to stop particularly with one as good natured as yourself. Now onto business.

 Well al right then, I concede, Xalane does indeed look splendid, particularly in that vibrant hue and I shall in response-immediately retract my utterly insensitive and misplaced joviality towards your original-G dwellings. Far be it from me to purposely disjoint the nose of my future neighbour and red blooded Boramawi at that. Ileen, you haven't been back for a while I see? No wonder your still holding such a powerfully romantic torch for the childhood fantasies your no doubt seeing through rose tinted glasses? Nay-I take it back. T'would be savage of me to corrode your enthusiasm its warming to watch. That is your old dugsi/school you say? How interesting? *scratches her chin* I wonder old man do you also recall frolicking in the seeraha where the gazelles roamed free and the Lions prowled from Baki to dila- right up until they reached the very entrance of your esteemed Xalane? I've heard many a hyena howling from your ends and more stories of them devouring your children. No tis a good thing you've come up to where its safer. Up here your children will not have to fear the wild as you once did no doubt. *Tries not to burst out laughing* truly I jest you must forgive my poking, I find it almost impossible not to tease and annoy wherever I go.

Alaa! This is the second time I've heard Sophisticates name! And by the sounds of it, it is indeed she! My online-sister from another mister, now take back your comment of my being more khatar-there is non like my lady Sophy and while I am charmed by the compliment you meant for it to be I shall not allow her honour to be defiled by such a blood-thirsty wench as myself. . It matters not if you knew me, I've never been a member here and come from places far less salubrious than this (old-Somalilife) and more (I had a stint in the camel milk thread once). They call me the many faced man-so my past life matters not. Only that I be reunited with Sophy (alas who is gone for now it seems) and my other bosomed buddies who I shall spot whilst in here in no doubt.

Also I shall thank you for the kindly offer of jutting teeth so to speak but I fear I may chip my front ones in the process of our acquaintanceship. My teeth you see, are my one true beauty and I cannot allow them to be compromised by your.... how shall I put it? Heavy toothed exuberance? I do however, give you leave to kiss my hand *lifts her hand up for him to plant a delicate kiss upon it* Naturally tis the only introduction befitting a gentlemen and a Countess don't you agree?
