Posts: 8489 My dad told me this in an email a few minutes ago, kind of startling to be honest.
When I was younger, my family referred to my grandfather by his nickname, "Mas Qale" or Snake Slayer, but I found out that it was a mispronunciation, his real nickname sounded the same, but was in fact Masqula, or Muzigula - an ethnic group from Tanzania imported to Somalia by Omani traders in the 1890s.
Its been a strange day for me.
