Did the drought they had few months back did too much damage to the farm lands?I was there a couple of months ago. Mashallah nice and relaxing place, no buuq like hargeisa.

A Qodaal Humor:
Nin Oday ah oo xaaskiisa kula dardaarmayay inay yaryarayso Hadhuudhka, oo ay in ku filan uun kariso, isaga oo weliba xasusinayay Abaarti iyo wax la-aantii ay soo mareen, ayaa dhegta u saaray oo yidhi,-
Waxii ina gaadhay waad garane
Galaan iyo Daasad uun kari

You can take the kid out of the qodaal but you can't take the qodaal out of the kid.1982 was the first time I went to Gabiley. I was smitten. grandpa's corn & sugar cane fields, the cattle, the fresh milk, the clean, sometimes frigid air, the xareed water tasted like honey to my parched lips, used to the salty and stale water of djibouti...We'd go to the dry river bank to dig a laas/hole and drink of the cool water...taking dinner to the guys at the field, in the middle of the night, with the moon or a torch for a light while hearing the hyenas fighting over leftover bones by the market...very fond memories...I was born in a city but I am a qodaal in my heart![]()
