Tribes of the Week ( Isxaaq Carre and Ciise Muuse )

Postby Digdahab » Sun Mar 21, 2010 4:00 pm

Ciise Muuse

A sub clan of Subeer Awal which is part of the major Isaaq branch, Habar Awal .
Is usually divided in two branches, one coastal and other interior. Aadan Ciise and Maxamad Ciise .

Who are they and where did they originate and emigrate the last 200 years?

I'm actually very curious about how Ciise Muuse ended up Saaxil .
But I guess they are younger then Sacad Muuse because they have ended up in Ethiopia, a longer journey.

Politically in todays Somaliland
Ciise Muuse clans remains supporters of UDUB, allthough their closest kin has largely emigrated to Kulmiye,
One of their sons holds the VP post.
They are represented with 7 seats in Parliament through UCID and UDUB won seats.

Future prospects

Beesha Ciise Muuse has not improved Berbera city to become a viable third capital of Somaliland.
The port city has stagnated, allthough there are some positive developements in airport, livestock business and hotels.
The citys major asset the port remains unproductive largely.

How old is Ciise Muuse ?
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say perhaps 250 years old.

Isxaaq Carre

A sub clan of Habar Yoonis branch of the greater Isaaq family .
Recognised as being the second most westward HY clanfamily after the Ololweyne lineage.
They inhabit large tracts from the mountains of Golis down south to upper hawd in places such as Rabasso, Daroor .

Who are they and where did they originate and emigrate the last 200 years?

There are two stories circulating on the web and in Somali folklore, one is that the clan was being subject to organized taxing by the
central Habar Yoonis suldaan Amaan, and hence escaped from traditional HY lands to seek refugee in Ciidagale lands westward.
The other version says Isxaaq Carre hasbeen dwelling of Maroodi Jeex valleys for a longer time.

Politically in todays Somaliland

Isxaaq Carre is like most Habar Yoonis clans split between UDUB and UCID.
Their most prominent man is current aviation minister Waran Cadde.
Unknown if any significant numbers supports Kulmiye.

How old is Isxaaq Carre?

Guessing again 250-300 years old

Future prospects

Isxaaq Carre is very occupied with both far eastern politics, such as Maydh and Ceerigaabo.
But also with western and southern hawd affairs.
It is unknown for wether they will join Odweyne state or remain in Garoodiga.
The clan is directed in three directions and has no prioritized goal.

Interesting, but can you explain why would Isaxaaq be occupied with politics in the far east of Maydh & Erigavo they don't even settle there, could it be in the future lineages of Isaxaaq might settle in sanaag and the far east.

I was just assuming Isxaaq Carre is just as integrated in the best of HY, therefor they would be following any plans and developements of Habar Yoonis lands in East.

Digdahab, your right in terms of development all Sub clans of H.y will interact for example the rebuilding of maydh after the finish of the project the plan is to transform Maydh as a major business city like boaso with a functioning port, since other H.Y did settle in hargeysa alongside the Isaxaaq i don't see the problem if isaxaaaq also settles in the east ( the method is your land is my land , my land is your land).

Who was this warrior of Ciise Muuse, and how did he end up in Sool fighting dhulos.

and do you know if Isxaaq Carre comes fourth or third as in size within HY subclans?
I'm guessing nbody will deny Ismail Carre is the largest of HY, Muse Carre second.
