If you are crossing Hargeisa airport be so paranoid on alshabab. Do not wear Cimaamad and pakistani clothes because Alshabab created fear amongst the society.
BTW. I think you have purchased not genuine ticket as DAALO went bankrupt. Tigidh bugaa ayaa lagaa iibiyey!! Dad badan oo london degan diyaaradii oo kacday ayaa weli tigidho laga iibiniyey.

The only advice I can give you is, when you arrive in hargeisa airport don't let the workers carry your bag at all. They will charge you more money because they can tell your from the west.
Also when out shopping the first few days, let your family over there buy the stuff for you or else you'll get ripped off.

Welcome Boqor Darood

Several factors need to be taken into consideration first:

1) Is it your first visit
2) How many relatives are you going with
3) How long do you plan to say in Somalia
4) Where you will be staying (towns, villages, baadiyo etc)

Those are the main factors to pond over which in turn will contrinute 40% to your peperation.

Is it your first visit?
If it is your first visit, be prepared to take lots of money with you that will get you through the holiday. Although the money over there isn't worth much ( you will probably feel rich), family members will automatically assume that you will give out loads of money to those in towns and baadiyo. They have this perception of you living in the West equating to having money 24/7.

How many relatives are you going with?
The number of relatives accompanying you on the trip could be very comforting, especially if it's your first time. If you have family members your age (male) then this will be a benefit as they are the only once you will get along with and can talk to freely during your first moments (days, weeks etc) in the country.

How long do you plan to say in Somalia?
The longer you will stay, the more you will adapt to its society. It will be quite tough fitting in during the initial stages. People will spot that you're a Westerner from miles away and will test your manhood. If you do not have relatives back home that are respected in the local area i'd advice you not to go to far from home, especially at night time.

The best moments that you will cherish for the rest of the summer is the attenion from females that you will recieve. You don't even have to be good looking walahi, they all want yo. You will perhaps notice that the pretiest girls live back home and at times you will ask yur self "Kuwii foolxumaa maxaa Europe iyo America geeyey". I do not know what the 'dating scene' i like in your neck of he woods of Somalia, do watch out for girls when they ask you to meet them somewhere. Always take a couple of guys with you, preferably cousins, nephews, young uncles etc. Four out o ten times they ask you to meet them somewhere they have different motives (set up) and never take your pssport with you.

When police stop you in the middle of the road when you're drivig, step on the gas and do not stop. If you do you will most likely be asked to drop them home

Finally, don't forget to take your injections at your local doctor before going.
You will have the experience of a lifetime.
Cali midget,

Meeshaa laguu jabeed tagataa waa xagee inaadeer ma gar adag baa?

Girls set you up? My firt time I hear such thing. Maybe in Buttland!

For those of you who are advocating not to let the local airport workers carry your bags? BOOO BOOO

That is what they do for living. Giving them 5 or 10 dollars isn’t gonna break you. You do the same thing out here in the west why not for your people.

Rightwing,

You’re right, they don’t like gadheerayaal in Somaliland.

Sahan,

Walaahi waa runtaa..Don’t ask you if you’re going somewhere in hurry. Waa war na sii tuur.

Dhaga, hablaha dhulka jooga qaar ayaa ciyaal suuqin ah oo bartay inamada qurbaha ka imaada. Walahi i've got a Reer Samatar friend who got robbed in a house in Hargeisa by 4 guys after some girls told him to come see them habeenimada.
My cousin in Burco picked up some girls after a wedding with his friends, once the 2 girls got in the back of the car ayaa lagu idhi 'cabaar yara soco'. They told him to drive towards the football stadium (that area used to be without street lights by the way'. Once they got there and thinking they were getting some nookie ayeey rag gaadhiga ka xadeen, habliihina kama soo degin gaadhiga.

They went with the robbers.
