Servants

Postby RuralMan08 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 6:05 pm

Here is the proof that Habroawaleen were slaves to the English:

"They had despised the heavy sacks of grain, the books, broken boxes, injured instruments, and a variety of articles which they did not understand. We spent that day at Berberah, bringing off our property, and firing guns to recall six servants who were missing. They did not appear, having lost no time in starting for Karam and Aynterad, whence they made their way in safety to Aden. On the evening of the 19th of April, unable to remove the heavier effects, and anxious to return with the least possible delay, I ordered them to be set on fire." First footsteps in East Africa' 1856).

Its a really shameful day when the children of the habro ghost turn into servants for the English. I wonder how they can sleep at night  I have two questions:

1. Why did the six habroawal servants run away?
2. Were they bahgobo or another habaro clan?

This is purely for educational purposes, I just am interested in learning what made them slaves? Is it because of the socio-economic conditions that habros had to sell their kids into christianity due to rampant poverty?
Or was it because according to caqli habaro, it would be cool to be a slave of the white man.
Or was it because the english controlled the jaad supply, hence if they didnt do their household duties and chores there would be no jaad coming into the town?

Jaad was not discovered in those days.

There was Snuff, tobacco it was worth more the anything. They had not discovered to roll it and smoke it rather hold it in the cheek like the Bengali Buri that makes the teeth all brown.

It was like currency, if you had enough of that shid you were king.

I read parts of the first footsteps who are bahGobo? i assumed they were HA. In Richards accounts the Mikahil and the Isse Were the deadliest warriors in those days he labeled them Blood-Thirsty.

Weird niether of them today has any power in S.land!

I have never claimed to be any qabiil, nor do i really need to. I have my own political views independent of my own qabiil.

My Qabiil starts and finishes with me. This is Virtual reality politics and in reality all somalis and their politics are equal for me.

they're two branch of bahgobo--reer ali iyo reer maxamuud. bahgobo are houssein abokor, sacad muse, habar awal.... their degaan are found in kilinka shanaad but the most famous ones are arabsio and djibouti where they, along jabril abokor, formed the overwhelming majority of isaaq(15% of the whole djibouti population). waa landheer

Historically, gadabuursi are seen as an off branch of bahgobo since we live pratically in the same deegan as them along jabril abokor

Stop the rhetoric Mr Qawdhan ibn Iidoor, you are starting to sound like a man who has lost all confidence because your nasab was destroyed

Haddaa rag tahay go and reclaim your legitimacy and nasab because it was taken away by pure evidence.

P.S In Dila and borama all the jaariyads are habroawaleen. Markaa we feel sorry for them, qaar ba u naxay and freed them from slavery and married them
