^^ Its called unnofical support. Just because offical support ended didnt mean their wasnt any treacherous habashis at work. Plus we have witnessed who are still alive (it was only 20 years ago) who still bear witness that Xabashis shelled Borama from the ethiopian border and their soldiers joined the attack from the east with their habrawal slaves.

it was the SNM that shelled and captured Borama with their might that is the reality and a fact1988, Siad Barre and Ethiopian president Mengistu Haile Mariam met in Djibouti to discuss ways of reducing tension between the two countries. Although little was accomplished, the two agreed to hold further talks. At the end of March 1988, the Ethiopian minister of foreign affairs, Berhanu Bayih, arrived in Mogadishu for discussions with a group of Somali officials, headed by General Ahmad Mahamuud Faarah. On April 4, 1988, the two presidents signed a joint communiqué in which they agreed to restore diplomatic relations, exchange prisoners of war, start a mutual withdrawal of troops from the border area, and end subversive activities and hostile propaganda against each other.

by 1991 the derg was defeated and the army was surrendering to the TPLF/EPLF forces in Addis abbaba..
How on earth would a dead regime help the SNM?
From 1991 till 1994 there was still chaos and no formal control over the Ogaden..
The WSLF was dead, ONLF non existant and the SNM were frequently going into Jijiga and helping themselves to a shopping list of weapons from abandoned Ethiopian Army bases and Depots..
