I was 18 turning 19 but only had one mijin as i was a beginner. It wasn't a proper chewing session as you probably imagine.
At the time, Friday & Saturday nights were the 2 nights of the week we practically lived for. I attended the same college as some friends of mine, 5 to be exact, and were all off from College on Friday by 12.15 pm. We used to go straight to Jummah prayer, hang around town untill 5pm and then go home and get ready for a night out in town chasing girls.
This one night we all decided to meet up at one of my friends house at 9.30 pm. When i got there, i found one of his older brothers chewing who was in his mid 20's. One by one, he gave us one arbeeto (which means a small bunch that's tied up within the mijin, each mijin has on average 4 or 5 bunches) and we chewed on it. The bitterness almost killed me so he adviced us to eatch it with Juicy fruit ( the yellow chewing gum) which helps you getting over the bitter taste in the beginning. After 40 minutes or so, as we were slow chewers, we managed to get a little takhsin and got a little 'buzz' out of it. it was at that moment we decided to cancell our plans of going out and all buy 1 mijin each to chew for the night. As we didn't have houses where we could chew at, one of my bimbo friends thought it was a great idea to just get a cople of blankets and sit on the top floor of some towerblock (19th floot to be precise). For some reason we all followed soot, went to the tower block, pressed the buzzer on some random flat, got in, went in the lift to the 19th floor and set up our blankets in front of the appartments and sat down with our qaad, shaani drinks, xanjo and cigarettes

I wasn't expecting such a great response, so I presume you live in UK, and do you think the qaat culture is dying out with the older generation?

Qaad culture dying out with the older generation?

I don't know what you're talking about, but as far as i'm concerned, qaad is more popular now than ever. Less than a week ago i had a 20 year old pretty girl asking me to buy her qaad and offered me the money walahi. It will never die out as long as it's legal over here. I'm actually kind of glad that i came across qaad at such a young age as it kept me away from doing other things that i used to do on the Friday nights.

Yes, i'm from the UK.

In my brief period of expwerimenting with the stuff, and FRiend and I, decided to go and chew at the cinema. Half way through the film, the murqan was too much and we started philosophising and talking about all kinds of subjects- from girls to our family members to this and that. The next thing I know some WHite Dude gets up and starts screaming " SHud uppppppppppp, like we killed his family or something". The funniest one, though, was when we gave it to some polish dudes and they joined in the murqAN. They chewed like white monkeys.
