Why doesn't Siilaanyo rule over all of Somalia?

Postby RuralMan08 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:14 am

I've never quite understood it? Today he can permanently move the capital to Hargeisa, rule over all Somali inhabited lands and create an empire and even his clan could be the dominating calan over all other Somalis? Is Siilaanyo crazy for not taking this opportunity?

Something like this would be very tempting for any Somali leader, yet his folks want to stay enclosed in their own corner?

Its either two things:

1. They are still demoralised and are threatened by competition
2. They truly despise all other Somalis

If you today were offered to rule over and permanently move the Somali capital to Hargeisa, then this would mean that Hargeisa would be the biggest and most developed city on all of East Africa, it would rival Dubai and the likes, however if they choose not to do so then that means more of the same poverty, living off donor aid and no recognition for another 100 years?

So whats it going to be?

Because only the people of Somaliland can decided whether they want to be a part of somalia and NO president can take such unilateral decisions(its not F**king Puntland). Secondly, how do you expect the people of Somaliland to accept such an offer when all they see in the south is carnage and death. And you have the audacity to call it an ''Oppertunity''.

All Somali's are not Power hungry mate

Reer Konfuur are irrelevant, 20+ years of infighting have made them beyond useless. Mogadishu is not an option as it is a battleground. If the shift of politics of Somalia switches to Hargeisa then the south will only be valuable for their rivers but the power will stay in the North.

Somalia is in a mess, is there really any other choice

WTF

Seriously though....its because he's Isaaq, its normal for him to feel naturally intimidated by Hutu and MJ politics. We apologize for scaring you into isolation.

Its not in the interests of Somaliland to even entertain that idea.

Why are you acting as if Somalia is stable. If Somalia was stable than ok.. the above would be meaningful. But SOMALIA is currently unstable iyo very unpredictable. Why Would Silaanyo risk the safety/stability of his country and citizens just so he can rule a larger area?
Is the xawaayanimo currently happening in the south *& the possibility of the same happening in the north* worth ruling a much larger land?.. Ooo HELL NOO!!
This clearly shows that Silaanyo isn't power hungry!

Plus Silaanyo has no right/say over this.. The power lays with the people of Somaliland not just one bloke!!
