the wells and pastures around garadag were conquered before the british , actually around the same time as the signings of the treaties 1884.

Caynabe was taken right smack int he middle of a HJ/HY civil war...
we had enough manpower to take territory while in full scale conflict..

and Lascanood was saved from the same fate thanks to the british..

why do you disrespect your masters and saviours?

do you know how many camels the british fined us, for disobeying them and continuing raiding las canood..

in 1950 the british put their foot down and stopped our advance cold..

Miskiin, when we move away from deeper Sanaag and came to Garadag, you were already there. As a matter fact, the 1st guy who welcomed us was named Cali Diiriye, a Musa Obokor guy. We dominated HJ and HY until British came.

Since when were you masters? When Afxakame told you "ninkaan aan deldelay hasoo dejinina ilaa aansoo noqdo" oo aad dejin keri weydeen, ma markaasaad ahaydeen masters? You were pets. Ask yourself who was the guy that was hung in Garadag? He was Isaaq!

It was only after Dervishes revolution, you settled the land you settle today, which was empty grassland. Since when settling an empty grassland became a conquest. As a matter fact, the Nugaal Godan that we settle, most of wells were either dug by Galla or Isaaq. How was that possible? To give you a brief history, there is a well called Canjeex that is located East of Taleex and it was dug by an Isaaq guy but today it is the furthest end of Sool region and on the border that divide between Nugaal and Sool regions. There was also a well called Kalcad that is located in deeper Xaysimo Nugaaleed, and it was dug by Isaaqs. History proves that Isaaqs were in this territory but when we Daaroods became big numbers, we kicked you out all the way to the mountains. It was only after the British came that you felt relief and came down from the mountains.

Have you heard the Isaaq woman that one Dhulbahante guy and Isaaq suldaan competed for. The Isaaq suldaan offered 100 hundred camels and about 30 horses as a dowry. The Dhulbahante guy stated I will marry her based on my balls and the might of my tol. In Somali, xiniinyahayga iyo tolkay baan ku guursanayaa. The father of Isaaq woman gave the woman to Dhulbahante man. It happened in Caynabo. Dhulbahante guy was Wacays Aadan, Axmed Garaad. A simple Dhulbahante man was more preverable than an Isaaq suldaan.

It is a proof your Martin Luther King was the British colonialists. We stood up like men and resisted while you chose to be his subjects!

In the 1950 Xarggaga war, this was your uncle who came up this calaacal poem:

Rabaq rabaqda naasaha markay ruuga marinaysay
Oo rootiyow baarqabkii daba rakoocaayey
Nin raxaabadkeedii ogaa nabad ma raadsheene
Iyadoo raggeenii ku lumay raacday libintiiye
Marna miyaynaan rogayn ceebta waa la iska reebaaye!

fairy tales..

These are fairy tales to help you deal with your loss..
why concoct such tales?

I cant speak for the rest of isaaq but as a muse abokar , werent you the ones accusing us of not bieng honourable because we did not have that many camels, and relyed on sheep?
how could we be digging wells in nugaal when we only started camel herding in the 1800's??

Isaaq all the way digging wells east of talex?

We only started grazing with you near garadag in the 1850's.
how did an isaaq reach all the way to talex?

maybe you are confusing us with some other clan, probably a dir subclan..

While you were camel herding nomads 200 to 300 years before us we were town dwelling traders
from the 1300's till the late 1500's we did not even reach the mountains, we lived on coastal towns
and relyed on the Indian trade, and prefered Fish to camel meat because we were still culturally very arab and not somali.

The portugese and the collapse of the Indian ocean trade, led us to become goat herders and try our luck south.
as late us the 1720's isaaq were clinging to the coast and only around that time did they defeat ogaden just south of berbera and start expanding south.

Its only with millitary success that we adapted to the camel herding nomadic lifestyle and became culturally more somali.
