Amd built the first mosque?
The name of “Cote francaise des Somalis” itself is said to have been proposed by hağği Diideh [Mahad-Ase clan of
Gadaboursi . He was Prosperous merchant of Zayla who built the first Mosque in Djibouti Ğami
ar-Rahma in 1891] to the French administration in imitation of British Somaliland.

“Cote francaise des Somalis” Was before the issa were brought to the land. there were gadabursi, isaq and afar at first and no issa at all. The signiture between the French and the people who lived there was signed by a gadabursi elder and an afar.

the Issa were brough to the land in 1929. Dabadhilifs for the french were needed and thats how they got into the picture. So it went from “Cote francaise des Somalis” to "Territoire français des Afars et des Issas".

So in a way you can say that the Issa in Djibouti are like the Jews of Palestine that are claiming a land that doesnt belong to them
