Sanaag Development Plans - SL Goverment

Dear all,

I hope you have been in good health. I have been awa from this forum for quite some time as I had some commitment back in Somaliland. No I was not part of the goverment and was not given any position. But i did participate in social development in Somaliland generally but in particular Saraar and Sanaag region.

From what i know there are major project currently underway and some due to come live soon. Here are some examples of the projects;


- University of Sanag launched
- Dayaxa School refurbishement plans
- Elafweyn will benefit from the SL-Kuwait water wells
- Gar-adag Secondary school project underway
-Goverment reittrated thier commitment of Buroa-Erigabo Road



For Saraar Region:
- Discussions have emerged on the Development of Saraar University
- The Central Bank of Caynaba is currently the Eastern Centre for Goverment Tax collections
- Plans underway to build training centre for Somaliland troops


As for other regions there are other projects underway but i can only comment on those that Ihave been involved both directly and indirectly.

Wacalaykum Salaam. The government so far made many promises to the eastern Somaliland regions however whether they will deliver or not is unknown(lets hope all those promises they made to the people of Sanaag will be true). As for the University it is already constructed and was mainly funded by the Sanaag Somaliland diaspora.

I know so many high educated and intelectual people from Sanaag. With a Sanaag University, we might soon have a Nobel laureate scientist among the Somali people.

BTW good for Reer Sanaag for this. This university will change the state and hopfuly they will remain in sanaag instead of running to hargisea and burco or even bosaso.

Yes University of Sanaag existed but new faculties and the government's contribution was agreed. Previously, there was minor disagreement about the leadership which has been resolved. The committee It must always come under the 4 Clan ( HJ,HY, Dhul and Warsan).

Every region needs the support of all Somalilanders, and we should get away from this notion of tribal territory. I can tell you that you would find an area which is exclusively owed by a tribe.....Even Oodweyne:).

I am from Sanaag and calling all Sanaag dwellers to come together and contribute to the advancement of the region. In addition, to hold account to the government on their promises. The construction of the ROAD of BURCO-CEERIGABO is imperative for the regions development.
