Clan Politics section - A Call to Somaliland

Postby Monk-of-Mogadishu » Sun Dec 11, 2011 7:51 am

I helped you khat folk (or tried) in your recent failed boycott of the Generals, I think its time to return the favor.

The General section has become a sort of shit hole breeding ground for inept Somalis who look for social/romantic redemption on the internet, a trend I thought was now absent among young Western Somalis. You guys are one of the few communities on this forum who prefer to deal with matters of substance, both socially and politically, as opposed to trivial BS that should otherwise be discussed with friends and family.

I am requesting that you help me and the PL crew as well as others who support our initiatives, in reviving the clan politics section. At one point it was the life of the forum, but over the years the mods and admin have conspired to destroy any sense of Somali identity and to replace it with trivial matters relating either to issues outside of Somalia, or toward expressing the social/romantic depravity of the community to keep Somalis busy and to make them unaware of important issues.

Many members on this forum, even the "reformed Qabiilists" have admitted that it was the nature of the clan/political discussion and satire of this forum that helped them recapture their Somali identity - even the infamous Voltage has stated so. I am in agreement. You can disagree with clannism if you like but in the short-term it is the best medicine for helping Somali youth in the West gain a connection with the homeland. It is a civic duty to revive the Clan Politics section.

I can no longer even look at the Generals. It is a dump at the moment. Perhaps in a few weeks/months time it will regain some substance, but an outlet is needed. We can agree on Clan Politics section or Politics General Discussion forum to rebuild the spirit of qabiil among the cyber-based community. Be honest with yourselves and do the right thing for once.

If you agree, then welcome - if not, enjoy your malaayacni games.

He is right, we should come to the aid and help to revive :som:

There's no such thing as clans. Its a social construction.

Larger Somali clans have been gobbling up rival smaller clans for centuries to as early as 50 years ago either because the smaller clan wanted protection from the larger clan or after facing a humilating defeat in battle

You may be a Faqashini or Gadabursi for all you know

Don't mind "fighter," he is a Hutu from Galguduud region. He only seeks to create discord in this topic, pay him no mind.

The newer Hutu members were largely responsible for destroying the General Discussions section. The elder Hutus, of which Abdiwahab252 is the last surviving on this forum, advocate for a return to Somali cultural discipline, which in turn calls for the return of Qabiil-based enlightenment.

Voice your opinions, this is your chance to have the forum that you have wanted this place to be. Think as a Somalilander - when they destroyed their home, you built a castle, and by doing so you have brought them to you instead of waiting for salvation. This is your time, this is our time.

When we get a bigger showing here, and decide on a designated section to place our voice, we will succeed.

It was a while ago. It was a shitty boycott. Caligaab couldn't resist flirting with Hutu females so the boycott was delayed indefinitely and it just never resumed. End of that saga.

Moving on, support the struggle and sign your name on this topic.

Monk , if you really need help , why don't you just join us here ?
I'll tell you why
Because under a Somaliland "umbrella" no one can win an argument against us ,therefore you wanna drag to where we just become part of the greater chaos.
Well take Mondey with you , that's about as far as I will go .
