You don't understand the SDC will be incorporated in and governed by a recognized neutral jurisdiction (UK, Jersey or Dubai).Courts in England will enforce its contracts or arbitration awards made under such agreements in the future is a will This will basically allow Somaliland to attrack multi Million investment deals from other countries ( state Companies) in a very legitimate way and these projects will be endorsed by the trustees of the Corporation since Somalilands De jure recognition is pending in the mean time. The SDC will be controlled by the trustees on behalf of the people of Somaliland, Somaliland will build it's economy and employment will rise in Somaliland,Somalilands future looks bright indeed.

Khalid who has jurisdiction over natural resources?

Recognized Governments.

Example:

If SDC in partner with an oil company finds and extracts oil. Somalia has the right to take SDC to court. In that neutral jurisdiction in correlation with recognized international laws, how will they rule?

Somalia has the right to take SDC to court
if somalia completes the roadmap and establishes a real government that is accepted by the rest of the world.
then yes. they will have a right to contest such contracts.

not at the current state...

if oil was discovered today shiekh shariif would not be listened to if he tried to contest it.
but a new government a year from now, if you pull it off can.

look at the example of Kenya's exploration off the coast bordering somalia,
companies are going ahead with exploration even with a dispute in progress.
The moment somalia has a real government then it can make an impact,

no not recognized governments, sovereign governments.
The TFG is a recognized government but is not sovereign .i.e is not in control of its borders and does not exercise any real power.
While somaliland is sovereign but not a recognized government.

International corporation are not worried about somalilands unrecognized status.

they worry about Somalia becoming sovereign and making a legal case in the future.
and nobody knows when that will be,

optimists think 1-2 years other 10 years +

Completely agree with you on the essential argument Gurey

Its a shame to see the potential of a somali government held back by a legal status dictated by foreign Governments. And I know they don't have anyone"s best interests in mind except their own.

Somalia getting their act together and later going to the court won't suffice as Oodweyne is solely controlled by the sovereign Somaliland government and its people. It is not a disputed area like Sool region.

yes but it will go to court there will be an attempt to investigate the case.
Right now no court in the world would even acknowledge the TFG.

Taiwan isn't even officially recognised by most governments because of china (a markedly more powerful and influential sate than Somalia), how is it then possible for it to have an advanced industrial economy?

gurey25 them attempting if they get a strong government shouldn't bother us much, their case will not amount to much as they do not have a control of the lands they are trying to claim on paper. There is always some oil companies who will take risks in the unlikely event of Somalia winning a court case.
