The incident happen not too longer ago, these people should have been given a fair trail and a chance to defend themselves in a court of law. If this civilians were from larger and more prominent clans, they would have been treated differently.

Somaliland acts more like a dictatorial and oppressive regime rather than "Africa's most kept secret." Somaliland government should not have sentenced those people to death without fair trail. Suppose they did commit the crime they are accused of, still the way the "Somaliland government" choose to handle the issue is disgraceful.

Stop blowing things of context, nobody claims it's utopia, specially considering it's located in the poorest continent and still attached to the poorest and most corrupt country in the world. Unfortunate incidents are bound to happen but considering the situation we were in at one point and where we are now one must feel humble in a way. It could have been a whole different story in Somaliland at the moment, as time goes by our institutions continue to strengthen and the society will be at peace.

This is just a common land dispute nothing more and nothing less.

It's outside analysts who call it a ''utopia'' and ''Africa's best kept secret'' and ''built with no outside help in comparison to many African countries''. And then they called Puntland a pirates haven. It's just the way it is.
