Former SSC Commander appointed as Minister

President Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo appointed a former Commander of an armed militant in Sool region as the Minister of State for National Reconciliation for Eastern regions on Saturday.

Mr. Silanyo issued a Presidential decree appointing Kayse Abdi Yusuf, the former SSC field Commander, as the first national reconciliation minister for Sool and eastern Sanaag.

Mr. Yusuf will now negotiate on behave of the government with SSC and Khaatumo groups in Buhodle and Taleh townships respectively.

Kayse promised to promote peace and reconciliation between all Somaliland groups.

Thats Keyse Yusuf, he was never a SSC commander. He was a former MP in Somaliland in the 1990s though
