Hargeisa Local Government and Roads

Postby LondonLad » Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:26 am

I don't get it, everyone I speak to who is in Hageisa or has come back from Hargeisa always says to me that the city has everything you could find in a developed city, eg great cafes, hotels, wifi and even multi-storey office blocks are propping up outside Hargeisa and yet these people always say the biggest failure in Hargeisa is the lack of roads.

Last time I went Hargeisa was 2007 and all I remember was one vast long road that cuts all the way through Hargeisa.

I mean I don't get it, surely the local government should be making roads and providing infrastructure a priority. Just look at Berbera a city half the size of Hargeisa, yet all the recent road developments have meant that roads are new, paved and easily accesible in Berebera.

What the hell are the Hargeisa local government playing at, its suppose to be the bloody capital of the country and yet they seem sluggish to the need for roads. People have been crying out for roads for years now and yet there are hardly any improvements.

If anyone knows of any road projects in hargeisa or why it is so slow please do let me know.
