President Silaanyo Annuls His Own Directive

The Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud "Silaanyo" has annulled his own directive concerning the transfer of the Presidency Aid Office to the jurisdiction of the Somaliland Ministry of Resettlement and Rural Affairs.

In a directive titled JSL/M/XERM/249-1368/102012, President Silaanyo issued an order that the Presidency Aid Office, which had come under severe criticism during a recent scandal involving the theft and miss-appropriation of food aid from Oman and Qatar(in which several people were convicted, imprisoned and subsequently pardoned) intended for Somaliland's poor, be transferred to the Somaliland Ministry of Resettlement and Rural Affairs.

The office would continue its aid work, but would report directly to the new Somaliland Minister, Saleeban Isse Ahmed "Xagla Toosiye", former head of the SSC Militia, who had recently joined the Somaliland government.

However, reliable sources confirm, after much pressure from, allegedly, Somaliland first lady, Marwo Amina Waris and the director of the aid office, President Silaanyo was forced to rescind and annul his own directive.

Amid scenes of total farce, the current director of Presidency Aid Office went on national television to declare and insist that the office will remain under the jurisdiction of the Presidency, and so it will.

This matter is a new lesson in how things work within President Silaanyo's administration for minister Xagla Toosiye, and it clearly highlights, that unfortunately, the President himself does not and is not able to run his own administration, let alone the country.
