Somaliland Vice-President Saylici Returns From UAE

Postby KingBlack » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:39 pm

The Somaliland Vice-President, Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail "Saylici" has returned home after almost ten days in the United Arab Emirates.

According to reliable sources, Vice-President Saylici left for the UAE after a conflict between himself and erstwhile minister for Presidency, Hersi Ali Hassan.

Our sources indicate that Vice-President Saylici had been upset by some perceived interference by minister Hersi and alleged under-mining his position and authority.

Our sources confirm that Vice-President Saylici has been sidelined in terms of matters pertaining to both the nation and his indigenous region, Awdal.

It seems that the administration of President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud "Silaanyo" only discusses issues pertaining to Awdal region with the ministers of Agriculture Farah Gedole and Social Affairs Mohamed Ahmed Garad.

The recent tiff between the Vice-President and minister Hersi concerned the sacking of the World Food Program liaison officer by the Vice-President during an overseas visit by President Silaanyo.

Vice-President Saylici sacked the official, but was overruled by minister Hersi. Vice-President Saylici asserted his authority as the person in charge in the event of President's absence.

However, minister Hersi indicated that he is the person in charge whether the President is at home or abroad, allegedly.

Secondly, in order to make room for the new Resettlement minister Saleban Isse Xaglo Toosiye, President Silaanyo removed Abdirisaq Ali Osman (who is from the same community has the Vice-President) from his post and made him the "Minister of Industry", which doesn't really exist, having been amalgamated into the Commerce Ministry in 2010.

Furthermore, Vice-President Saylici boycotted the ceremony to open the new broadcasting unit at Radio Hargeisa. A ceremony conducted with much fanfare. A landmark ceremony without the the participation of the Vice-President who was in good health and in Hargeisa!

Subsequently, Vice-President Saylici left for a visit to the United Arab Emirates which had been not been previously scheduled and was not in the nature of a medical emergency.

All in all, the Vice-President has returned (without his family who remain in Dubai), and according to sources still fuming, whilst the President has been reduced to annulling his own directives.
