There isn't going to be any agreements. Somaliland wants goosni isku taag respect from xamar. Xamar will never give the aqoonsi might as well continue what somaliland is doing without aqoonsi and go our separate ways these talks are a waste of time unless somaliland is trying to be a state in the Somali federal system. Whats the point of having talks with someone who's already made their decision.
Somaliland = We will not give up our self declared sovereignty
Somalia = We will never recognize Somaliland
why meet?

Somaliland is not after political seats nor were they promised to get a PM why would they be given that , it wa never even mentioned you should not believe into much into sheeko suuqyada , the british are indifferent and they do not want to get involved in these talks as mediator for nowThe uk has told somaliland there is no independence but you come up with other ideas and you must do some thing and we can help you with that like a northern-southern-based-power sharing where is the PM is from north.
Since then, the ball is in the court of somaliland and they are expected to respond.
The somaliland leaders have thought their people to believe firmly in the truth of somaliland so they cant descend from that political position and had no other ideas at all. Now they seem like they are in the decision-making situation they are also trying to put pressure on the somali government before it gets bigger they dont want to challenge and stay away they want to talk and get more involved.
For the somali government they have more southren prolems and they are not thinking of somaliland before getting strongger but there are general interests that somalia and somaliland share together like attracting foreing investments so they must cooperate on security and keeping the peace and stability.

Khalid Ali,
If a referendum in Somaliland were to be held today, what do you think the percentage of the vote will be for an independent Somaliland? Would it be 50/50? 70/30? I know all the youth are for an independent Somaliland depending on the area. I've seen it for myself. All they know is Somaliland but the young people who would be voting would be 18-29 and not 0-18. Not all young people are eligible to vote. The older generation support will not be as high as the younger generation but I still think it will be strong. But if a referendum were to occur in all of British Somaliland, what do you think will be the outcome?
What do you think will eventually occur? What do you think will be the final outcome not of these talks but this whole dispute over independence and unity? Not what you want but what is likely to happen?Khalid Ali,

Close to 82% for independence
Not just the youth the old generation they one who made the union feel very bad they united with Somalia and they are the hardest supporters of independence these days so the generation of Siilanyo and so on. But in Somaliland the vast majority who live in SL are between 25 and 35 they are the bulk of the people in SL. But proper voter registration need to be done before a UN supervised referendum can take place , i dont think they would even go that path , because they know if a referendum was given every one would vote for independence , even including those in laascanood there are many who would support that there are also many who would oppose SL , if all added up from awdal to maroodijeex saaxil sanaag togddheer Sool 82% would vote for independence

Listen, either contribute to the conversation in a mature manner or get lost. All opinions are respected. Just don't be childish in presenting it.We all know what will happen. There will only be one Somalia. Just give it a rest.
