Tensions will run high once the talks fail. It's clear what will happen afterwards. The government will put time and energy in propping up administrations in pro-Somalia regions such as Sool, Sanaag and Cayn perhaps even Awdal.

With the close alignment of DDS & Ethiopia, Puntland with the federal government, Somaliland will continue to get more isolated, what a shame. :|

khalid

I didnt said somaliland is after some seats i was talking about uk and if such thing wasnt told to you may be the other side knowns about it but nothing is certain.

We cant say what is likely to happen but what is likely to be a solution.
for now there will be cooperation on security and stability so the foreigners can invest in the two places without worrying and turky has an oil interests in somaliland and other projects in somalia.
Every conference has a financial support in its agenda .

Now there is no internal conflicts between the government of somalia and somaliland unlike of sudan who stopped their long war to share their oil revenues as this project needs stability.
No foreing pressure on the government on the independence issue.

As a policy the government believes that the north could help the south in making a peaceful ex somalia.

What is likely to be a solution is if an agreement of southern-northern- unity- government was reached in some foreing town and takes its name in wich the agreement includes a future independence referendum for somaliland after 10 years i heard somaliland is againist after 15 years but looking at south sudan who had conflicts and wars besides the oil it took them 6 years so in the somali case where no pressures it could take 10 years.

sahal

somaliland will go through the eritrea road not the south sudan road whereby we will have a referendum in 1-2 yrs across somaliland's british borders, not participate in national unity govt e.g. through vp or pm and also maintain de facto independent statehood prior to the un mandated vote

one man one vote not one clan one vote - this will guarantee somaliland's independence officially
