But we have a vision of our own: to restore markets, reduce poverty, and raise living standards in some of the world’s most dysfunctional economies.
We believe breaking through the self-reinforcing elements of poverty and market failure requires a diversified and impact-oriented approach led by private investors. While investing in individual causes like education or healthcare can produce lasting results in stable economies like the United States, similar programs often fall short in places where market failure and poverty traps overwhelm even the best intentions. Significant obstacles exist for new capital to flow into necessary areas through a combination of failed policy, lack of funding, and complex socioeconomic factors; but it is possible to overcome these roadblocks through disciplined and informed asset allocation.
When I think of the word Firestarter the first hing that pops up in my mind is this 1984 movie with Drew Barrymore.
